Contactless Sanitizer Invented By DRDO- Will Disinfect Currency, Phones, Envelopes

DRDO Contactless santizer

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) developed a contactless sanitizer Cabinet. It is developed as a protection measure against Corona. This device will disinfect currency notes, laptops, mobile phones, cheque leafs, etc.

DRDO developed this Ultra-Violet cabinet at its Hyderabad-based laboratory. The other name for this UV sanitation cabinet is “Defense Research Ultraviolet Sanitizer” (DRUVS). It is designed to keep mobile phones, iPads, laptops, currency notes, cheque leafs, invoices, passbooks, paper, envelopes, etc sanitized.

The Defense Research Ultraviolet Sanitizer (DRUVS) Cabinet makes the whole sanitizing process a completely contactless operation which is essential to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus at present. It also has Proximity sensor switches clubbed with drawer opening and closing mechanism thus making its operation automatic and contactless.

As per a report of India Today, Mr. Gopinath, a senior scientist at RCI said that he along with his colleague Sourav Kumar designed this UVC sanitation unit in just 15 days and also tested to kill various bacteria.

Notably, the lab was recently inaugurated in April 2020 by India’s Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh through video conferencing.

DRDO said that this contactless sanitizer will go a long way in tackling the spread of Coronavirus. It provides 360-degree exposure of UVC to the objects placed inside this cabinet. Once sanitization is done, the system goes in sleep mode automatically. Hence the operator does not need to wait or stand.
